Happy New Year!
A little late, I realize.  Well the new year is already shaping up to be a big one!  I've already signed up for the Women's Expo (tentative upon fee payment), I am planning a Y-Art Sale in mine own neck of the woods and there is word that Thunder Games & Gifts (www.thundergamesandgifts.com) will be hosting a Craft and Art Show in their new even space!  Stay tuned for updates on all of that.

The Christmas Season and Start of the New Year...
The Ladies' Gala at the Wayland was a success, even without and very big turn out this year.  I finished only one large commission over the holidays and I think it turned out well...a lone Dragonfly for the spouse of a pal from work and met some new people (other local business owners and crafters).  I am also going to be the feature artist at Thunder Games and Gifts from February 1-15th this year!

WIPs...
That stands for Works-In-Progress for you artsy newbs out there.  I am working on recovering a plastic guitar I found at a second hand shop from a children's video game console and turning it into a wall hanging for some talented musician's studio/jam space (though I have someone in mind, it's open for sale).

Recent Works and Showings...

Louise Thomas' Ahnisnabae Art Gallery (www.ahnisnabae-art.com/) is now carrying 20 new small pieces in addition to some older small pieces and art print cards!  Go down and have a look (now on Court St.)

Thunder Games and Gifts, also recently stocked a bunch of these miniature framed art prints

In addition to this, I have been playing around with some different techniques out of drawing guides etc.

The native themed ornaments were a last minute addition to my mom's roster of Xmas gifts...

Of course, my favourite things to draw and the style I'm becoming most well-known for...some art WIPs and some finished and signed.  These are all apart of my private collection but may, someday, be made into art prints.

Last Shows Of The Year...
I am only, myself, doing two more shows this year.  Now my stuff will be at the Thunder Games and Gifts tables at both the Baggage Building Arts Centre Winter Bizarre and at the December Dreams Show at the Coliseum but I will be featuring my own art, on a table of its own, at the old Hillcrest's Kids Rock in Room 210 on Saturday, December 13th from 11am til 2pm.  (poster to come) and at the Ladies' Gala at the Wayland on Sunday, December 14th from 12pm until 4pm (?).

All Venues...
Currently, I am selling my work at Thunder Games and Gifts, the Bliss Cafe, Ahnisnabae Art Gallery, North Shore Therapeutic Massage and (soon) Do or Dye Salon...all in Thunder Bay.  As always, I am available for private sales and commissions (contact me on my Facebook Group "Art By: Cat Free").

Post Show Recap....
Aye!  'Twere a slow Saturday Craft Market this past weekend!  Arrrh!  The wonderful crowd we did manage to get were very interested in the artwork of Russell Mason as well as my own work.  This was Russell's first time showing his artwork and for a first-timer, he definitely received a lot of local interest. This was a very big accomplishment for him and for those of use who create for passion's sake, for that matter.

I took a few shots of our tables for your viewing pleasure!

As always to the North Mac Rec Center for their affordable tables and genuine hospitality, to my Mom for dropping off Lunch and staying for a visit, to BISNO Staff for helping our individual get his work out the door and into public view and to everyone who came out support the show!

Upcoming Show....
If you're in the Thunder Bay area this upcoming Saturday, November 1st between 10am and 3pm, stop by the North McIntyre Recreation Center at 2051 Government Road.  It's on the way to or from Vanderwees if you take the Gov't Road route.

I will be there with some of my usual wares: Ornaments, Magnets, Stickers, Art Prints etc.

This year, I will also be volunteering to run a table for an up & coming artist.  For more information on works available and the artist's bio; stop by the table.

Way Too Long...
Sorry folks, my intentions are always to keep you updated on the wild world of Cat Free and the art I do and I have been delinquent.  I will be better once my new studio is set up and ready to go but in the mean time, I will share a new doodle from my new favourite doodle book!
